Downtown Santa Ana
I guess I'm in a Blogging Mood tonight!
I grew up in Santa Ana, and I love this City despite all the bad rep it gets from other Orange County Communities. Which is why I wanted to Share with you how Santa Ana is working to change that! Downtown Santa Ana has began a Renaissance that has captured the attention of people in the arts community through Monthly Artist Walk @ the Artist's Village, new hipster bars, Loft development, and various events such as this one I attended just last weekend:
You can read more about development in Downtown SA here! & come visit!

Kickball!!
I've joined kickball for two seasons now with some people from work. Recently, ABC came down to our field to film a report on our little Irvine Central League here in Orange County! Below is the link to the video, I hope to find this on YouTube soon so I can post the actual video on here. Too bad they filmed this after we were done playing that night! It's still cool seeing some people we have played in this video! So Neat! :)

Haha I think I'm going through a hotpink/purple phase...
These are just temporary until I totally integrate my blog and website together. Soon to come...I hope... Now I just have to try out a tutorial so I can use this on the very neglected Designer Friends blog :/ sad

Time for Change <3
Hello Friends. I guess Danni made me feel really guilty about not posting in a while because here is another post for today! So this is old news but I guess It's a good excuse to post but I've re vamped some of my marketing collateral including my website and Pdf Sample Sheet. So behold the changes:
Old:
New:
Old
New:
Overall I just wanted to simply everything and make it more sophisticated. I still like the grays in my branding but for the site i wanted to mix it up and add more inviting colors like that beige, browns and a lovely tinted teal. I'm also in the process of changing my logo – I'm still keeping my rose but I just want a change in typography – something less uptight :) Once that is decided you will be seeing some new stamps and business cards!

Antiques Website
Hey all! So I know I haven't posted in a while, so I decided to post a website I designed while at The Buddy Group. This was a low budget project so I wasn't able to get into it as much as I would have liked. However, I still managed to make a sophisticated design through color and typography :)

Hollywood Monument
Part two of my last blog... so I decided to make a Hollywood Monument as well–which is what you see when you enter the city (like those cement blocks that say city of whatever)
I really like it when I see typography as a statue or a major design element in real life, and I'm also really into 3d Type. Concept wise this is an extension of the Hollywood sign on the hills, and what better color to describe Hollywood than a neon pink?!

Hollywood Signs
So I've been applying to jobs. and One post required environmental design in my Portfolio and since I really dislike my projects from my Environmental Design class I went ahead and re-Designed one of them... There was more I had done for my class assignment including a monument and two other signs for my city of choice. However, this is all I did so far. I wonder if this is enough?? I might re-design my Chanel Museum Environmental Design Project??? hmm...

Flaunt Magazine
Last year I volunteered at a Fashion Show Sponsored by Flaunt Magazine (–an arts and entertainment lifestyle magazine) During LA Fashion Week. I contemplated seeking a job here because at the time I really wanted to get into magazines but most magazines are located in New York, and this is one of the few quality magazines in LA. I really love how they feature art on their covers.

Girl Power
I like to consider myself a feminist as I aspire to become self sufficient and a successful female Graphic Designer. I wanted to show some of my inspiration not only in Girl Power, but trends in urban and 90's fashion and design:

This time around my client wanted to ditch the beach vintage look and just wanted something that is simply 70's–ish vintage a little art nouveau–ish... and for a third tag he wanted me to just go 80's.......

TShirts Edits
So my client decided he liked my second concept best but he doesnt like clean vector art.... He's more of a "pixel guy" and wanted it to look more hand illustrated, he also changed his concept to look more like burlap coffee bean bag. And these were the final results:
